How the faceless video generator works
A faceless video has no presenter on camera. The story is carried by narration, pictures and sound, and Longformly builds all three from your words. Here is what goes in and what comes out.
- In: a short topic on compound interest and a length of 15 minutes. Out: a 15-minute explainer film in flat illustration, the sample above.
- In: one topic line about a snowy night in Victorian London. Out: a 2-minute painterly film, the sample on the home page.
- In: your own script, up to 50,000 characters. Out: one film of up to 60 minutes.
Three steps: paste a script, or give a topic and a length; wait while the film is built (you can close the tab, it waits in My videos); then download a 1080p MP4 with a captions file and a credits file. The home page walks through the same steps with the live progress screen.
Who makes faceless videos with it
Faceless AI tools for sleep and history channels
Slow, calm narration over painterly period scenes. The history for sleep look adds firelight, snow and a quiet soundscape, and films of up to 60 minutes are the point.
Space and science explainers
Mission stories, planets and how things work. The space documentary look prefers public-domain photographs and marks generated scenes as illustrations in the credits file.
True crime and finance channels
A case-file look with maps, timelines and documents, or a clean explainer look with charts and counters. No real victims' photos are generated. Comparing long-video tools? Read the Vidrush alternative page, or see pricing: a video up to 60 minutes is $9.90, the first $6.90.
Questions
Can I make faceless Shorts with it?
No. Longformly makes 16:9 1080p MP4 films only, so it does not produce vertical 9:16 clips for Shorts, Reels or TikTok. If vertical clips are what you need, a short-video tool is the better fit. If you make long YouTube videos, that is exactly what this is for: paste a script, or give a topic and a length, and the film comes back as one MP4 with a captions file and a credits file. You can cut and crop a clip from a finished film in your own editor and post it as a Short, but we do not make that cut for you.
Is there a free faceless video generator?
There is a free preview, not a free film. Paste a script or a topic and you get a 10-second preview of your own video with a watermark, with no card and no account. It is short on purpose: it shows the look, the voice and how the pictures follow your words. The full video is paid per video: $6.90 for your first and $9.90 after that, up to 60 minutes, with no subscription. A failed render is never charged.
Does the free preview have a watermark?
Yes. The 10-second preview carries a watermark and is meant for judging the result, not for posting. The paid video has no watermark: it is a 1080p MP4 that you download and upload to your own channel. The preview needs no card and no account, so you can see your own topic or script rendered before you pay anything. If you do not like the preview, change the script, the look or the voice and make another one. Nothing is charged until you choose to unlock the full video.
How do the visuals match my script?
Each scene is planned from your script, and its picture is made for the sentences spoken over it. Before any frame is rendered, every picture is scored against those sentences, and pictures that do not fit, or repeat an earlier scene, are redrawn. History films are also checked for details that did not exist in the period. Space films use public-domain photographs where they exist, and generated scenes are marked as illustrations. Every image and sound is listed in the credits.txt that comes with the download.
Can a faceless AI channel be monetised on YouTube?
Monetisation is YouTube's decision, and we cannot promise it. YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic synthetic content, and we show you where to tick that box when you publish. Its monetisation rules also look unfavourably on mass-produced, repetitive videos, so write your own script and give each film its own angle. Every download includes a credits.txt that lists where each image and sound comes from, and a captions file you can upload as subtitles. Read YouTube's current policies before you publish, because they change.
How long can a faceless video be?
Up to 60 minutes per video. When we write the script from your topic, the length slider runs from 5 to 60 minutes; a script you paste can be shorter, up to 50,000 characters. For a longer story, split the script in two and make two videos, for example part one and part two of the same series. Short films take less time to render than long ones, and you can close the tab: the video is saved in My videos on this device.
